Our BEST OF THE BAY ride follows the same roads ridden in Stage 2 of the 2006 TOUR OF CALIFORNIA – a true world-class “Super-Century” ride.  You would have to travel to the Sierras or beyond to find an equally great route, yet here is one you can BART to!

You will enjoy lots of panoramic bay views, miles of pastoral and forested hills, even deep, cool redwood forests, and only a few city miles and little vehicle traffic on the entire ride. Cherry City Cyclists will provide you with lots of SAG support and beautiful reststops and food appropriate for this type of ride.

We think that this route is the most beautiful and MOST CHALLENGING contiguous 100+ miles in the urban San Francisco Bay Area. There are ten long difficult climbs and thrilling (read dangerous) descents, culminating with the (optional) CAT 1 climb up the infamous Sierra Road.

The BOB ride is strictly limited to a maximum of 150 riders - because of the constraints of using BART, and so we can provide the high level of support needed for such an advanced ride. We expect the ride to reach capacity early, thanks to the great reviews from all of last year's riders, so register early to be sure of being one of the BEST OF THE BAY riders.

You should only sign up for BOB if you are already riding at least 100 miles per week, including lots of big hills. If so, you will be able to really enjoy this wonderful but very challenging route.
